Carts & Storage

Storage and handling for welding consumables and gas cylinders - rod containers, electrode canisters, leather rod pouches and cylinder caps.

Rod storage is a weld quality issue, not housekeeping

Low-hydrogen electrodes begin reabsorbing atmospheric moisture within hours of the container being opened. Once they have, they are no longer low hydrogen whatever the box says, and the hydrogen they carry into the weld causes delayed cracking - the kind that appears days after the job was signed off.

On code work this is not optional. On any structural work it is cheap insurance against a failure you will not see coming.

  • Moisture-resistant rod containers hold opened packets sealed between uses.
  • Electrode canisters carry a working quantity to the job without exposing the whole packet.
  • Leather rod pouches keep rods to hand and off the deck in position work, where a dropped electrode is both a waste and a trip hazard.

Cylinder caps are a legal and safety requirement

A compressed gas cylinder must have its valve cap fitted whenever it is moved or stored without a regulator. The cap protects the valve, and a sheared valve on a full cylinder turns it into an uncontrolled projectile. This is one of the few genuinely catastrophic failure modes in a welding shop and it is entirely preventable.

Caps are thread-specific to the cylinder. Check the thread before ordering.
