Overview

MapleWeld ArcDuty 90: Dual-Range Auto-Darkening Welding Helmet with 3-Step Delay

The MapleWeld ArcDuty 90 is a dual-range auto-darkening welding helmet for MIG, TIG, Stick and plasma cutting: DIN 5–9 for cutting, DIN 9–13 for welding, a DIN 4 light state, 1/1/1/2 optical class and a 100 × 60 mm (3.94 × 2.36 in) view. The filter darkens in 0.2 ms, blocks UV/IR radiation up to DIN 16 at all times and returns to light on a three-step 0.1 / 0.4 / 0.8 s delay.

The impact-resistant polypropylene shell keeps weight down over long shifts, and solar cells backed by a replaceable CR2450 battery switch the filter on and off automatically. Rated to operate from -5°C to +55°C, the ArcDuty 90 is built for fabrication shops, maintenance crews and job sites across Canada.

Frequently Asked Questions

What welding processes is the ArcDuty 90 for?

MIG, flux-core, TIG and Stick welding in the DIN 9–13 range, and plasma cutting in the DIN 5–9 range.

What delay settings does the ArcDuty 90 have?

Three steps: 0.1, 0.4 and 0.8 s. Use a short delay (about 0.1–0.3 s) for tack welding and production work so you see the next joint sooner, and a longer delay (0.6–0.8 s) for high-amperage MIG or Stick, where the hot puddle keeps glowing after the arc stops.

What is the difference between the ArcDuty 90 and the ClariView 80?

Their filters share the same core specifications: 100 × 60 mm view, DIN 4 light state, DIN 5–9 and 9–13 dark ranges, 0.2 ms switching, 1/1/1/2 optical class and a CR2450 backup battery. The ClariView 80 has a continuously adjustable 0.1–0.8 s delay; the ArcDuty 90 uses three fixed delay steps (0.1, 0.4 and 0.8 s). Choose on shell styling and how you prefer to set the delay.

Can the ArcDuty 90 be used for plasma cutting?

Yes. The DIN 5–9 range covers suggested plasma cutting shades from shade 5 at 20–40 A to shade 9 at 80–300 A.

How does the ArcDuty 90 viewing area compare?

At 100 × 60 mm it matches the ClariView 80, offers 20% more area than the ProDuty 94 (100 × 50 mm) and about 1.5 times the NovaSight 55 (93 × 43 mm).

What battery does the ArcDuty 90 use?

A solar cell backed by one replaceable CR2450 lithium coin cell, with automatic on/off.

Can I use the ArcDuty 90 in winter?

It operates from -5°C to +55°C and stores from -10°C to +70°C. On cold job sites, keep it in the truck cab or a heated space between welds so the filter responds at full speed.
