Red WT20 Tungsten Electrodes, Ideal for DC TIG welding of stainless steel, mild steel, nickel, and titanium alloys. Offers good arc starts, stability, and less spitting. Medium erosion rate, medium to high amperage range. Maintains sharp point, adheres to AWS A5.12 standards. Low-level radiation during grinding, follow safety guidelines.

These Red WT20 ground finish electrodes are designed for use with DC applications, composed of 97.3% Tungsten, 1.7%-2.2% Thorium, and 0.5% other elements. Red signifies the 2% thoriated composition, a classic choice for stainless steel, mild steel, nickel alloy, and titanium alloy TIG welding. Enjoy good DC arc starts and stability, with a medium erosion rate and a medium to high amperage range. Experience less spitting for smoother welding operations. The thoriated alloy operates below its melting temperature enhancing electrode life, providing better stability, improved electrode emission qualities and higher current carrying capacity. These electrodes maintain a sharp point, resisting tungsten contamination of the weld. Adheres to Standard AWS A5.12 specifications, ensuring precise size, smooth finish, and resistance to thermal shock. Thoriated tungsten electrodes emit low-level radiation during grinding. While external exposure is minimal, precautions must be taken during the grinding process. Consider thorium-free alternatives if concerned. Follow safety guidelines, use a high-efficiency dust collection system during grinding, and provide proper training for personnel.
