Each 1lb sleeve of 1/8" (3.2mm) contains approx. 8-9 stick welding rods (Length 14”) For Earthmoving equipment welding repair. MapleWeld HF24 is High chromium - iron alloyed electrode for applications subject to severe abrasion by sand, cement, mud and others. Good bond on steel, cast steel, manganese steel. Smooth deposit with very low friction coefficient. Long beads. Applications include repair of Dredger teeth, grab jaws, stirring tools, mixers, wear plates, dredge pump parts, centrifugal pumps, augers, tillage tools. Use AC or DC reverse polarity. Electrode position: almost 90° to workpiece. Weld with a short arc and at lowest possible amperage to avoid dilution with the base material. To obtain a crack-free coating: pre-heat to 500°C (930°F). For thick layers: Use MapleWeld HF27 as base layer.
