Torches & Kits
Oxy-fuel cutting torches, handles and cutting attachments in Victor, Harris and Airco patterns, portable torch kits, flint lighters and magnetic burning guides.
Handle plus attachment, or a one-piece torch
A torch handle with a cutting attachment is the more capable arrangement: swap the attachment for a welding or heating tip and one handle covers cutting, brazing, heating and straightening. It is what most shops should own.
A one-piece cutting torch is shorter, lighter and stiffer, and it does one job well. For production cutting and for anyone who only ever cuts, it is less to carry and less to go wrong.
Duty rating decides the torch, not the length
Medium-duty equipment suits plate up to the range most fabrication shops handle daily. Heavy-duty carries more oxygen volume for thick section and sustained cutting, and a medium-duty torch asked to do heavy work overheats, backfires and consumes tips.
Match the torch to the thickest material you cut regularly, then check that your regulators can deliver the volume the tip needs. An undersized regulator starves a correctly sized tip, and the cut quality gets blamed on the torch.
Pattern compatibility is where orders go wrong
Victor, Harris and Airco patterns are not interchangeable. Tips, attachments and handles are keyed to their own family, and a tip that almost fits will leak at the seat. Identify the pattern on the equipment you already own before ordering - if you are unsure, tell us what is stamped on the handle and we will match it.
Tip size is the cut
Nearly every complaint about cut quality traces back to tip size, preheat setting or travel speed rather than to the torch. Too small a tip and the cut will not sever; too large and the kerf is wide and the edge rounded. The tip chart is not a suggestion, and cleaning a tip with a proper set of tip cleaners restores a cut that operators usually blame on the machine.
Light it with a striker, every time
A flint striker, not a lighter and not a match - a butane lighter in a fuel-gas stream is a hand injury waiting to happen. Purge the lines before lighting, open fuel first, and shut down in the reverse order.
We also carry magnetic straight-edge and circle burning guides. A guide turns a freehand cut into a machine cut, and on repeat work it pays for itself in grinding time alone.
