Nozzles

Replacement plasma cutting nozzles and tips, sorted by amperage rating and torch series. These are the parts that decide whether a cut comes off clean or comes back to the grinder.

The nozzle sets the cut

The nozzle constricts the plasma jet. Its orifice diameter determines kerf width, cut speed and edge squareness. As it erodes the orifice goes out of round, and the result is a bevelled edge, heavy dross on the underside and an arc that wanders off the line. Operators usually blame the machine or the air supply first.

Amperage rating is not a suggestion

Every nozzle is rated for a specific current. Running a 45A nozzle at 65A widens the kerf, destroys the nozzle quickly and damages the electrode with it. Match the consumable to the amperage you actually cut at, not to the maximum the machine can deliver.

Change electrode and nozzle together

They wear as a pair. A new nozzle run against a worn electrode is destroyed within minutes, because the arc is no longer centred. Replacing the set costs less than replacing the nozzle twice.

Gouging nozzles are different

Gouging nozzles use a wider orifice and a softer arc to remove metal rather than sever it. They are not a substitute for a cutting nozzle and will not produce a usable cut edge.

Air quality first

If cut quality dropped suddenly on new consumables, the fault is almost always moisture or oil in the supply air. Check the dryer and filter before ordering more parts.
