TIG Accessories

Everything that goes on the front end of a TIG torch, stocked for trade and industrial use across Canada. If a weld is contaminating, wandering or burning tungsten, the cause is almost always in this collection rather than in the machine.

What to order, and when

• Collets and collet bodies hold the tungsten and carry the current. They are consumables, not fixtures - a collet that no longer grips firmly is causing arc instability and overheating at the torch head.
• Gas lenses replace the standard collet body with a layered mesh screen. They smooth gas flow, widen shielding coverage and let you extend tungsten further out of the cup. Standard on stainless and aluminium; worth fitting on any job where you need to reach into a joint.
• Cups and back caps set your shielding envelope and stickout clearance. Larger cups shield more but restrict access; short back caps matter in tight positional work.
• Tungsten is selected by alloy and diameter for the material and current. Get this wrong and nothing downstream will save the weld.

Keep sizes matched

Collet, collet body, cup and back cap must all match the torch series and the tungsten diameter. Mixing series is the single most common ordering error we see. If you are unsure which series your torch is, bring it in to the counter or call and we will identify it.
