Twin Welding Hose Grades R & T with Fittings

The Twin Welding Hose Grades R and T are designed to handle different gases with maximum efficiency and safety. The green hose is used for oxygen, with right-hand thread CGA-022, while the red hose is used for acetylene, with left-hand thread CGA-023. Both hoses feature a heat-resistant EPDM tube and cover, along with 2 spiral polyester yarn reinforcement, which makes them more flexible and easier to coil and handle compared to braid reinforced hoses. These hoses conform to RMA/CGA specifications and are designed to withstand a working pressure of 200 PSI (1.38 Mpa).

The key difference between Type R and Type T hoses lies in their chemical resistance. Type R hose, while suitable for acetylene, may degrade over time when used with fuels that contain natural oils, such as propane, natural gas, and propylene. This degradation occurs due to a chemical reaction with the rubber, leading to drying and cracking of the hose. On the other hand, Type T hose is engineered to resist this chemical reaction, making it a more durable choice for such fuels.
