Fibre-Metal Tigerhood

The Tigerhood Classic is a passive welding helmet moulded from heat-resistant Noryl thermoplastic, with extended throat protection, a shade 10 filter and Quick-Lok cups for mounting to a Fibre-Metal hard hat. Passive filters do not depend on batteries or sensors, which is why many pipeline and structural welders still prefer them. Shade 10 suits most stick and MIG work; swap to a darker filter for high-amperage welding.

Faceshields are for grinding, not welding

The FMF400CSA ratchet headgear carries a clear faceshield for grinding, cutting-wheel and chipping work. A faceshield is secondary protection: wear safety glasses underneath. Cut-off wheel fragments travel fast enough to get around a shield.

Uvex A700 and A800

• A700 - lightweight wraparound, for all-day wear under a helmet.
• A800 - UV-shielded and scratch-resistant, with more coverage.

In Canada, eye and face protectors are covered by CSA Z94.3. Look for the CSA marking when equipping a crew.
