Torch adapters

TIG torches terminate in several different machine-side arrangements depending on age and manufacturer. An adapter is very often the difference between a serviceable torch and a torch that sits on the shelf because the machine it matched was replaced. Cheaper than either a new torch or a new machine.

Control connectors

Foot pedal and torch-control connector plugs are a common intermittent fault and one of the most misdiagnosed. A pedal that responds erratically, or amperage that jumps without input, is usually a worn or corroded connector rather than a failing pedal or a board fault in the machine. Check the plug before you condemn anything expensive.

Tungsten electrode holders

Bench holders keep ground tungstens sorted by alloy and diameter and stop them rolling into the swarf. Mixing alloys is easy to do and hard to detect afterwards - a thoriated and a lanthanated electrode of the same diameter look identical once the colour band is worn off, and they behave differently on the arc.
