Atlantic

Atlantic E7024 iron powder stick electrodes for high-deposition fillet welding on mild and structural steel.

What E7024 is for

E7024 carries a heavy iron powder coating that adds metal to the weld pool, so it deposits far more weld per rod than E6013 or E7018. It is built for production fillets: long horizontal and flat joints on beams, frames, trailers and heavy plate where speed matters.

  • Flat and horizontal fillet only. The pool is large and fluid. It will not run vertical or overhead.
  • Drag technique. Keep the coating in light contact with the work and drag the rod - the thick coating maintains the arc length for you.
  • Smooth, flat bead with self-releasing slag on correctly set amperage.

When to use E7018 instead

E7024 is not a low-hydrogen electrode. For restrained joints, thick sections, higher-carbon steels or code work that specifies low hydrogen, use E7018. For root passes and dirty or rusty steel, E6010. See the full range of steel stick electrodes.
