Fiber discs by grain and job

• KF708 aluminum oxide - economical general-purpose grinding.
• ZF713 zirconia alumina - self-sharpening under moderate pressure. A strong all-round choice for steel and stainless.
• AF890 ceramic, XF885 Ceramics Plus and AF799 Actirox - ceramic grains for the fastest stock removal and longest life under high pressure, especially on stainless and hard steels.
• XF733 - formulated for aluminum and non-ferrous metals, which load standard discs.

Ceramic grain needs pressure to fracture and keep cutting. Used lightly, it glazes and feels dull.

Belts, sanding discs and surface conditioning

Fiber belts in aluminum oxide, zirconia and ceramic for belt grinders. KP911S sanding discs in PSA and hook-and-loop backing for finishing. Non-woven surface conditioning discs and hand pads blend weld lines, remove discolouration and leave a uniform finish without removing much metal.

Use the right backing pad

A fiber disc needs a backing pad of the right size and firmness. A worn pad wears the disc unevenly and gouges the work.
