Additionally, it doubles as a circle burning guide; by inserting the sharpened pin into a center punch mark, the magnet secures itself onto the work surface, allowing the weight of a torch to be supported. This functionality not only stabilizes the tool during operation but also frees up hands for enhanced cutting control. The soapstone holder is specifically designed for round soapstone, and the bushing inside diameter measures 41/64 inches (.640). While it's advised not to use the magnetic base for cutting holes under 8 inches in diameter, removing the base enables the cutting of holes as small as 4 inches, adding to the tool's flexibility.
